Unwritten Unresolved explores the role of oral storytelling in the communication and passage of familial histories. What happens when the line of dissemination is abruptly severed? How are generational traditions explained once the collective memory is forgotten? The persistence of such tradition in the face of fading understanding is examined through this all consuming installation.

Within a dark room lit only by an overturned lamp, one is submerged in an almost deprivational experience. Entering and journeying further into the space, one is met with a quiet and indistinguishable murmuring from somewhere above. Drawing upon linguistic traditions of cooperative overlap, a hallmark of Ashkenazi culture, the sound piece aims to invoke distant, far-off conversations and stories not quite heard through walls and under blankets.
