(Birth) Place
2022
(Birth) Place is a diaristic exploration, processing the destruction of a place. A place so sacred, so holy, it feels almost iconoclastic in its demolition.
(Birth) Place relies on images, often self portraits, taken within a singular space that no longer stands. Several of the images are then printed on the tiles taken from the room the images were first created within. This mixing of timelines and twisting realities of what is and that which could have been emphasises the experience of confusion and instability we feel when disconnected from places and spaces of comfort.
